R – Reciprocate. Give back.
I think that I met this by giving back during my volunteering hours. I found that working with and around the students helped them possibly learn better manners or anything else they might have caught on while I was with them.
I – Initiate and Innovate. Change starts with you
I think that I have innovated myself by growing more throughout the year physically and mentally. I've become more mature and developed a central mindset. Which is to try 110% to reach my set goals. This could help me in the future with be able to push through my college school year and graduate.
S – Steward. Be an advocate for change.
I think I have left a change on one person specifically. Which is Luiz. If you don't know Luiz is a special ed student here at rise. And I have been letting him read some comics during class when he doesn't do his work. Normally people tease him and I think that I might be one of the few people that treats him like anybody else.
E – Elevate through Education
I don't really think that I've done that well with improving my grades. They were all pretty basic and not that high. But, what I could have done ,that I see now, is to have tried harder. I know I said that I got the central mindset, but it ended up going wrong for me at first with just wanting to pass and only just passing not excelling like I should have.
How have you demonstrated RKMS' mission through your leadership? How did your community service help you meet this goal?
I think that I have demonstrated the vision by how I have become more involved with the community then I have been. Even if it only was for 22 and a half hours. I learned how we should be lucky that when we were born we were born well developed because if I haven't mentioned my community service was working with SPED preschoolers in my mom's classroom. And helping them taught me a bit about giving back which is more then just physical.
