Queen Hatshepsut was the first woman pharaoh. When her husband died his son ( Hatshepsut's stepson) Thutmose III, became pharaoh. He did not know what to do and asked advisors to help him rule. Then Hatshepsut saw that she could take over and she did. When Thutmose was older he took over Egypt again.
Trade Grows
Hatshepsut began doing trade or bartering. She traded with other countries. She did that, because she did not want to fight wars like previous pharaohs. It was a better way to get new things instead of killing. When she traded she got: rare herbs, live monkeys, spices, scented wood, trees for incense.

Ramses the 2nd a.k.a Ramses the Great was a good leader to the Egyptians. He had a lot of land. He got it by conquering and waging war. Then, he fought against the Hittites. They fought for a long time. After that, Ramses declared he won. Even though no one actually won. He was the first person to make a peace treaty with them. Because he was a good pharaoh, he made a city called Pi- Ramses. In front of his temple he put four 66 foot high statues of himself in front of his temple. They were supposed to guard it. But, they failed to do their job.
